Your journalism.
A new
revenue
stream.
Bulletin is a privacy-first media platform that puts independent publishers at the centre. You keep your editorial independence. We bring you a new audience, and give you 90% of everything they generate.
Powered by Impress, the UK's only fully independent, state-recognised press regulator.
One place for
everything that matters.
Bulletin is a personalised daily media briefing, not a news aggregator, not a social feed. It brings together the journalism, podcasts, audio, music, events, and culture that each reader genuinely cares about, curated by AI around their real interests.
The goal is never to summarise. Bulletin surfaces the right story to the right person at the right moment, then sends them directly to the full piece, on your platform, to your readership. Think of it as a press briefing that works as hard as a great editor, without replacing any of them.
Written press, podcasts, audio, events, music, culture, one stop for daily media, without the noise of social platforms and without surveillance advertising deciding what people see.
Regulated news
Only from independent, Impress-verified publishers. Quality by design.
Podcasts & audio
Curated audio matched to reader interests and moment.
Events & culture
What's on locally. What communities readers belong to care about.
Live interactive search
Readers talk to Bulletin in real time, adjusting their feed, going deeper on a topic, steering their own briefing. Every interaction is a privacy-first signal of genuine intent. No other platform has this.
On-device AI. Full privacy.
Lightweight AI runs locally on the reader's device. Preferences never leave their phone. Zero profiling. Zero surveillance. This is the trust that brings readers to Bulletin, and keeps them.
Hi Sarah. Press freedom is under pressure again, three regulatory rollbacks over the weekend. Locally, Manchester's independent media scene lost another title. On a lighter note, Floating Points dropped a surprise album. Here's what you need to know.
Breaking: The Algorithm decides what is real.
User: But I didn't ask,
Algorithm: IRRELEVANT.
User downloads Bulletin.
The current deal
is a bad one.
"90% of digital advertising is captured by Google and Meta, leaving almost nothing for the publishers who create the content people actually want to read."
Ofcom / IAB UK, 2024
Revenue stripped away
Platforms built their businesses on your content. The ad revenue went to them. The traffic they sent back was never yours to keep.
Zero reader intelligence
You publish into a void. You don't know who your readers are, what they actually want, or where your best work is landing.
No direct relationship
Social platforms own the relationship with your readers. When the algorithm changes, your reach disappears overnight.
Bulletin is built on a different premise: publishers are partners, not content suppliers. You own your editorial voice. We build the audience together, and share the revenue fairly.
Simple. Fair.
Built around you.
Bulletin surfaces your content in a personalised, curated feed. Readers discover your work, click through to your site, and generate revenue via the free ad-supported tier or a paid subscription. Both revenue streams flow back to you, 90% of everything, distributed monthly based on verified engagement.
You join, we connect your RSS feed
No integration overhead. We connect to your existing RSS feed. Your content appears in Bulletin immediately. Editorial control stays entirely with you.
Bulletin's ARA curates your stories to the right readers
Our Audience Relevance Algorithm matches each story to the readers most likely to care about it, based on genuine interest, not trending topics or engagement bait. The aim is always to direct readers to the full piece on your platform, not to replace it.
Readers engage, on the free tier or paid
Bulletin is free to access, supported by contextual, ethical advertising. Readers who prefer no ads subscribe at ยฃ6.50/month. Both revenue streams feed the same 90% publisher distribution pool, treated identically.
Revenue lands in your account monthly
90% of all revenue, advertising and subscriptions combined, is distributed to publishers based on verified read engagement. Transparent, auditable, monthly. No minimum thresholds.
You get real reader intelligence
Aggregated, anonymised signals about what your audience wants, what formats perform, what communities are engaging with, without individual tracking or data resale. Ever.
Two streams.
One principle: 90%.
Bulletin generates revenue two ways: contextual advertising on the free tier, and subscriptions from readers who prefer no ads. Both pools are treated identically, 90% goes directly to publishers. This is not a promotional rate. It is how Bulletin works, from day one.
Advertising revenue (free tier)
The free tier is supported by contextual, ethical advertising, no behavioural profiling, no surveillance targeting. Ad revenue is pooled monthly and distributed at 90% to publishers based on verified engagement with their content.
Subscription revenue (paid tier)
Readers who prefer an ad-free experience subscribe at ยฃ6.50/month. Subscription revenue goes into the same distribution pool and is calculated and paid on exactly the same basis as advertising revenue, 90% to publishers, monthly.
Reader micro-tips
Readers can tip individual publishers directly in-app. 100% of tips go directly to the publisher tipped. Bulletin takes nothing from tips.
Insight products
Aggregated, anonymised trend and editorial intelligence reports sold to organisations and institutions. Revenue shared with contributing publishers. No raw data. No individual profiles.
The 10% platform share covers infrastructure, development, and operations. No data brokerage. No sponsored editorial. No undisclosed commercial relationships. Revenue comes from readers, and goes back to the publishers who earn it.
Transparent ranking.
No black boxes.
The way Bulletin surfaces and ranks content is one of the things we are most serious about, and most open about. We publish our ranking methodology in full. Here is how it works.
Matched to the individual, not to trends
Bulletin's ARA (Audience Relevance Algorithm) scores every piece of content against each reader's genuine interests, built from what they read, search, and share. Ranking is not driven by what's trending or what generates the most clicks. It is driven by what is relevant to this person, right now.
Rated against a live, verified context
Every article is assessed for narrative accuracy against a continuously updated body of verified facts, sourced exclusively from independent, peer-reviewed, and editorially verified research. Articles are ranked partly on how closely their framing aligns with the actual global context, compared against each other and against verified evidence. This context evolves as new research and statistics emerge.
Ranked down. Never removed.
Bulletin does not censor content. Articles with misleading headlines, narratives that diverge significantly from verified context, or content that is hateful are ranked lower, not removed. There is no room for hateful content in the platform's default experience, but readers who wish to see ranked-down content for research or comparison can do so through their advanced feed preferences. There is no hidden editorial hand.
We publish the methodology
Bulletin's ranking criteria are documented and publicly available. Publishers can see how their content is being scored. Readers can see why something appeared in their feed. Transparency about curation is treated as a core editorial standard, not an optional feature.
Active fake news and bot monitoring
A dedicated layer detects coordinated inauthentic behaviour, bot-amplified content, and known disinformation patterns. Content flagged by this system is downranked. Publishers whose content is being weaponised by bad actors are notified. The system is updated continuously as new patterns emerge.
Advanced preferences for every reader
Readers have full, granular control over their feed, topic weighting, source inclusion or exclusion, content type filters, and the ability to access content ranked lower by the accuracy layer for research or their own editorial judgement. The algorithm serves the reader. Not the other way around.
For publishers: good original journalism scores well by design. The accuracy and originality dimensions of the algorithm actively reward independent reporting grounded in real-world evidence, the opposite of a platform that rewards speed and outrage.
More than
a revenue share.
Direct, fair revenue, from day one
90% of advertising and subscription revenue, distributed monthly based on verified read engagement. Reader tips go 100% directly to you. No opaque scoring. No minimum thresholds.
A new audience, already engaged
Bulletin launches with 150+ publishers and the Impress network behind it. Your content reaches readers who are paying and already care about quality journalism.
Real editorial intelligence
Aggregated, anonymised signals about what your readers want, what formats perform, and what communities engage with, without any individual tracking or data resale.
Regulatory credibility
The Impress whitelist signals editorial standards to readers, researchers, and funders. As trust in social media continues to fall, association with a regulated, transparent platform becomes more valuable.
Privacy by default
No surveillance advertising. No profiling. Readers choose Bulletin because they trust it, and that trust extends to every publisher inside it.
A seat at the table
Early publishers help shape how Bulletin develops, ranking criteria, product features, revenue models. This is a partnership, not a platform relationship.
Independent.
All sizes welcome.
Bulletin is open to independent publishers of all sizes, local newsletters, regional titles, national independents, specialist outlets. The one requirement is editorial independence and a commitment to original journalism.
You're a good fit if you are
Not yet Impress-regulated? We can support your application. The process is straightforward and the credibility benefits extend well beyond Bulletin.
What you need to get started
A note on timing: Bulletin is currently fundraising and in development. Publishers joining now do so as founding partners during our beta phase, no revenue is shared until the app launches and is profitable. Once it is, 90% of that revenue goes directly to you.
No technical integration. No lengthy contract. No upfront cost.
What we ask.
What we give back.
Joining Bulletin is a mutual commitment, not a one-sided platform agreement. We ask publishers to uphold a set of standards. In return, Bulletin commits to publishers in writing.
Publishers commit to
Bulletin commits to publishers
Common questions.
No, but Impress-regulated publishers are automatically whitelisted and prioritised in the feed. If you're not yet regulated, we can support your Impress application. The process is straightforward and the credibility benefits extend well beyond Bulletin.
No. Bulletin surfaces your content in a curated feed, headlines, summaries, and previews. Readers click through to your site to read in full. Your traffic, your relationship with the reader. We do not host your content and we never aim to replace the full piece.
Revenue share activates once Bulletin launches publicly and is profitable, not during the beta phase. From that point, revenue from both advertising and subscriptions is pooled monthly after payment processing fees. 90% of that pool is distributed among publishers based on verified read engagement, the proportion of time users spend with your content. This is calculated transparently and reported in your monthly statement. No black-box scoring, no hidden weightings. The full methodology is published.
Articles are ranked on three primary dimensions: relevance to the individual reader, accuracy relative to a live verified-context layer (updated continuously from independent sources), and editorial originality. Ranking is never driven by trends or engagement metrics. Original, accurate, independent journalism scores well by design. You can see how your content is being scored at any time via your publisher dashboard.
Bulletin is currently fundraising and in active development, with a prototype launching mid-2026 followed by a public app launch. Publishers joining now come on board as founding partners during the beta phase, there is no revenue share during this period. Once the app launches and is profitable, 90% of that revenue is distributed directly to publishers. There is no cost and no obligation beyond the commitment statement.
Free-tier readers see contextual advertising, no behavioural profiling, no surveillance targeting. Paid subscribers (ยฃ6.50/month) see no ads. Either way, 90% of all revenue generated goes back to publishers. There is no native advertising and no sponsored editorial anywhere on the platform.
