Microtipping
See something that matters? Tip the journalist directly. Microtipping lets readers send small amounts straight to the publisher and writer behind a piece of work they like.
This is about changing the incentive structure of news itself. Right now, media is rewarded for virality, outrage, and clicks. Microtipping rewards quality and genuine recognition from real audiences. Your tips and likes decide where the money goes: they steer the monthly publisher pot — 90% of Bulletin’s profit — towards the journalists and publications you value. The remaining 10% is reinvested in the development of Bulletin, R&D and new commissions.

Every morning Bulletin assembles a compact, considered selection just for you. Not a firehose of everything. A curated briefing of what matters to you today, chosen by you, from sources you can trust.
Powered by European AI (Mistral), which you control from your board’s settings — your topics, sources, places and keywords shape every briefing. We do all this without selling your data and without depending on Big Tech AI platforms.
The briefing reads across every source on your board and names the outlets under each story, so you can see how many newsrooms are on it. It renews three times a day, morning, midday and evening, and can land in your inbox at seven each morning if you want it to.
Smart article ratings
Bulletin's own algorithm rates content not just for relevance to you, but for source trust, quality and diversity — no single outlet is allowed to dominate your board. We publish how it works, openly, so anyone can scrutinise it — see “How we curate” on our publisher site.
In practice that means a cap on how many cards any single outlet can hold, a lift for stories that many different newsrooms are covering, and slower fading for slow publishers, so a weekly magazine is never buried under the dailies.
Groups and communities
Bulletin builds around communities, not just individuals. Join groups based on your interests, neighbourhood, or values. Each community gets a curated feed tailored to what that group actually cares about.
Today that begins with shared boards: share any board and a book club, a campaign group or a street of neighbours can read from the same page. Fuller community spaces are on the way.
Live interactive search

European AI, no Big Tech
The engine behind Bulletin runs on a compact European language model (Mistral, EU-hosted). No Silicon Valley recommendation algorithms, no Big Tech AI dependency, and every processor bound by GDPR safeguards. Tech sovereignty by design.
The model receives the minimum it needs to curate: your chosen topics, places and keywords, and the candidate articles. It never sees your name, your email address or a behavioural profile, because none is built.
Ethical advertising only
Every ad on Bulletin is ethical and non-tracking — contextual only, never behavioural. Subscribers get a lighter experience with noticeably fewer ads; ad revenue helps fund the publisher pot. No surveillance advertising. Ever.
Adverts are picked to suit the board you are reading, never a profile of you, and every one is clearly labelled as an ad. Our first advertising partner is Ethicly, a network that carries only screened ethical brands.
Your data stays yours
Zero personal data tracked or sold. Your reading habits, interests, and behaviour are never used to build a profile about you or handed to third parties. Full GDPR compliance, built in from day one.
Analytics inside Bulletin are aggregate counts only: we can see that a story was read a hundred times, never who read it. Reading history is kept only as long as personalisation needs it, and deleting your account deletes it.
